BIKiNNOV – Bike Value Innovation Center – Association was present from June 21st to 23rd at the EUROBIKE Show in Messe, Frankfurt (Germany), showcasing that Portugal has a dedicated Technology and Innovation Center for the two-wheeler industry.
EUROBIKE is recognized as the world’s largest event in the field of bicycles, attracting participation not only from European companies but from around the world. Anyone interested in discovering industry trends and advancements must attend this event. Germany, with approximately 5 million bicycles sold annually and an average price above 1,395 euros, represents the primary European market and hosts the annual Eurobike, the world’s leading trade fair. Spanning 140,000 square meters of exhibition space and featuring 1,500 exhibitors both inside and outside the Frankfurt fairgrounds, this is where business is conducted and new models and products are launched. Last year, the fair achieved a record-breaking attendance of 200,000 visitors.
This fair presents a significant opportunity for companies in the two-wheeler sector to showcase their capabilities. ABIMOTA participated with 17 member companies at Eurobike, the largest European bicycle trade fair, occupying a 775-square-meter stand, which represents the largest-ever presence of Portugal and Portugal Bike Value. The following companies were present at this space: ABIMOTA, Bikap, BIKiNNOV, CicloFapril, CarbonTeam, EDM – Electronics and Tech Solutions, Incycles, Jasil, Lightmobie, Miranda, NDTuned, Sangal, Triangle´s, Rodi, Unibike, Polisport, and FjBikes.
During this event, BIKiNNOV took the opportunity to present its areas of expertise, image, and services related to compliance and innovation, which led to a series of contacts for future project development. Gil Nadais, Executive Director of BIKiNNOV, stated, “This was our first presence at an international event, which is a global reference, so we were cautious, presenting our institutional image and the services we are ready to develop in the short term. The feedback received has been very positive, and there are high expectations for the Technology and Innovation Center.”
This visit, organized by ABIMOTA, is part of the AM2R – Mobilizing Agenda for business innovation in the two-wheeler sector, funded by the PRR – Recovery and Resilience Plan, and the European Union’s Next Generation initiative.
The strategic objective of the Innovation Agenda for the two-wheeler sector is to strengthen Portugal’s positioning as a quality destination and, above all, an industrial ecosystem that transitions from the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) concept to Original Design Manufacturing (ODM) for the two-wheeler industry and sustainable mobility.
