BIKiNNOV Attends Science Meeting 2024

BIKiNNOV attended the Science Meeting 2024, organized by FCT in collaboration with the University of Porto and the Ciência Viva Agency, held from July 3rd to 5th at the Alfândega do Porto Congress Center. The event’s goal was to foster debate and discussion on major Science and Innovation topics in Portugal, in an inclusive and cross-cutting manner across all domains.

Under the theme “+Science for One Health and Global Well-being,” the meeting aimed to showcase and enhance today’s science for the future of global health and well-being that we aspire for tomorrow. It served as a broad platform for reunion, debate, and discussion, enabling diverse fields of science and the best and most renowned national and international scientists to share doubts, successes, failures, results, and innovations in the quest for the necessary knowledge to build solutions for today’s challenges and to strive for a healthier, more sustainable, fairer, and greener society.

The Science Exhibition featured several key players in national innovation, including Technology and Innovation Centers and CoLabs, who shared prototypes of ongoing research.

The Technology and Innovation Center for the Two-Wheel Sector participated in the ANI@Ciência24 session, which provided an update on the Interface Mission, followed by two roundtables on “The Role of CTI and CoLAB in the Innovation Cycle” and “Internationalization: From Knowledge Chains to Market.”

BIKiNNOV presented an e-poster titled “Future Smart Cities: Mapping Innovation and Sustainable Mobility in Portuguese Municipalities.” This e-poster displays preliminary results obtained through a questionnaire survey directed at Portuguese municipalities, aiming to identify the current state of urban mobility in the country and future challenges for smart cities.
