BIKiNNOV and the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar establish a strategic partnership to strengthen the link between teaching, research and innovation
On May 28, 2025, BIKiNNOV – Bike Value Innovation Center and the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar (IPT) signed a cooperation protocol aimed at strengthening the link between teaching, applied research and development
technological. The signing took place at BIKiNNOV’s facilities in Águeda and was attended by Natércia Santos, Vice-President of IPT, and Gil Nadais, Executive Director of BIKiNNOV.
The agreement, signed at BIKiNNOV’s premises in Águeda, aims to bring together professional and higher education, through face-to-face and distance learning, encouraging students’ contact with cutting-edge research, laboratory activities, workshops and fieldwork, as well as specialized training opportunities.
BIKiNNOV will join the Eco-Schools Council of the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar (IPT) as an advisory body, joining a range of institutions and technological and social companies that collaborate in promoting sustainability in higher education.
The mission of the IPT Eco-Schools Council, promoted in the context of the EcoCampus program of ABAAE (Blue Flag Association of Europe), is to involve the academic community and external partners in building more responsible environmental practices in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
With this initiative, BIKiNNOV strengthens its mission as a Technology and Innovation Center, promoting synergies with higher education and contributing to the qualification of new talents and the enhancement of applied research.
BIKiNNOV believes that this step is a way of creating networks. Participation in partnerships of this nature falls within the scope of Action Line 5 – Promotion and Networking of the Interface Mission –Core Funding for Technology and Innovation Centers, of the Recovery and Resilience Program (PRR), financed by NextGenerationEU European Funds.
