BIKiNNOV approves Plan for Equality at Work

The Board of Directors of BIKiNNOV approved, at the meeting held on March 2, 2026, its Equality at Work Plan for 2026, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to promoting equal opportunities, inclusion, and non-discrimination.

Although it is not legally required to adopt this type of instrument, BIKiNNOV has voluntarily decided to implement this plan, assuming equality of rights and opportunities between women and men as an integral part of its mission as a Technology and Innovation Centre.

The plan results from a diagnostic process carried out through a questionnaire survey involving BIKiNNOV employees, as well as the reformulation of a previously developed document, reflecting the organisation’s evolution and its establishment as an autonomous entity. The new version further strengthens alignment with the most recent European guidelines on gender equality, which are particularly relevant in research, development, technological and industrial sectors, traditionally characterised by a greater male predominance.

To ensure the effective implementation of the plan, a working group has also been established, composed of Gil Nadais, Executive Director, representing the Board; César Coutinho, Technology Director; Daniela Herculano, Head of Human Resources; Débora Tavares, Head of Communication; and Inês Tavares, representative of the employees.

With this initiative, BIKiNNOV reaffirms its commitment to building a more inclusive organisation, promoting an institutional culture based on equality, respect, and the appreciation of people.
