BIKiNNOV visits Málaga TechPark and strengthens knowledge on innovation models
On February 25, BIKiNNOV visited Málaga TechPark, one of Europe’s leading infrastructures dedicated to promoting innovation, technological development, and business growth, located in Málaga, Spain.
Reinforcing its commitment to internationalization and the consolidation of strategic partnerships in technological innovation, during the visit to Málaga TechPark, Daniela Herculano, BIKiNNOV’s Innovation Project Manager, was received by the Vice-Rector for Technological Innovation and Strategic Projects of the Universidad de Málaga, Francisco Javier López Muñoz.
The institutional meeting highlighted the importance of collaboration between universities and technology parks as drivers of economic, scientific, and business development. The University of Málaga has played an active role in strengthening the regional innovation ecosystem by promoting knowledge transfer, developing strategic projects, and fostering closer ties with the business community based at the TechPark.
The institutional presentation of Málaga TechPark was delivered by Aline Daniel, Head of International Projects, who outlined the park’s strategic positioning as one of the leading technological ecosystems in southern Europe.
During her presentation, it was emphasized that the TechPark currently hosts around 700 companies, mostly technology-based and knowledge-intensive, operating in areas such as information and communication technologies, engineering, energy, biotechnology, advanced industry, and smart and sustainable mobility. This highly qualified business ecosystem represents a key driver of innovation, competitiveness, and regional economic development.
The park’s main areas of action were also highlighted, namely the promotion of collaborative international projects, the attraction of foreign investment, the development of innovative solutions, and support for the internationalization of resident companies. The session also provided insight into the strategies adopted to foster digital and sustainable transition, as well as the mechanisms for integration into European innovation networks and access to international funding programs.
This mission falls within Action Line 5 – 008ANI Promotion and Networks, under the Interface Mission – Base Funding for Technology and Innovation Centers, of the Recovery and Resilience Program (RRP), funded by the European Funds of NextGenerationEU.
