BIKiNNOV welcomes students from the international Innov4mobility programme

Águeda, September 9, 2026 — On September 9, BIKiNNOV welcomed around 40 participants from the 2026 edition of Innov4Mobility, an international programme dedicated to entrepreneurship and innovation in sustainable urban mobility.

The visit was part of this year’s programme, which runs from September 8 to 12 in Aveiro, bringing together European students of different nationalities and diverse academic backgrounds, mainly in STEM fields. The initiative aims to connect young talent with real-world challenges in the mobility sector, providing direct contact with companies, innovation centres and other ecosystem stakeholders.

During their visit to BIKiNNOV, participants had the opportunity to learn about the Technology and Innovation Centre, its mission and its contribution to technological development and innovation in the two-wheel sector. The programme also included a presentation of projects and initiatives currently under development, providing context for BIKiNNOV’s work in relation to current industry and urban mobility challenges.

The tour of the facilities and laboratories also gave participants a closer look at some of the expertise, equipment and resources available to support companies in the development and validation of new products, materials, processes and solutions.

For BIKiNNOV, taking part in initiatives such as Innov4Mobility represents an opportunity to strengthen the link between knowledge, innovation and industry, bringing a new generation of students and potential entrepreneurs closer to the technologies and challenges transforming the mobility sector.

Innov4Mobility 2026 is led by BGI Sustainable Ventures, with TU Berlin as its main academic partner, in collaboration with the University of Aveiro and with support from EIT Urban Mobility. Across its various editions, the programme has already involved participants of multiple nationalities, organisations from the innovation and mobility ecosystem, and a range of invited experts.

The visit to BIKiNNOV thus provided a space for interaction between programme participants and the technological and industrial reality of the two-wheel sector, promoting knowledge sharing and dialogue on new opportunities for more sustainable and innovative mobility.

The initiative is part of project 008ANI – Promotion and Networks, under the Interface Mission – Base Funding for Technology and Innovation Centres, funded by the PRR – Recovery and Resilience Plan and NextGenerationEU.
