BIKiNNOV: Technology and Innovation for the Smart Cities of the Future
BIKiNNOV – Bike Value Innovation Center – Association was present at the Science 2025 Meeting, held from July 9 to 11 at the NOVA SBE Campus in Carcavelos, with the central theme “Science, Innovation and Society”, bringing together researchers, policy makers, companies and civil society to debate the impact of science on Portugal’s sustainable development.
BIKiNNOV – Bike Value Innovation Center – Association was present at the event with the presentation of a scientific poster entitled “Future Smart Cities: Developments in Mapping Innovation and Sustainable Mobility in Portuguese Municipalities”. The poster, developed by Pedro Almeida, Daniela Herculano and Gil Nadais, analyzed trends in innovation and sustainable mobility in Portuguese municipalities, highlighting the adoption of Smart City strategies and the challenges associated with implementing these solutions.
As well as presenting the poster, Gil Nadais, BIKiNNOV’s Executive Director, took part in the event’s Opening Session and plenary sessions, which were attended by experts, researchers and decision-makers, discussing the role of science, innovation and society in building a sustainable future.
The event provided BIKiNNOV with a unique opportunity to reaffirm its commitment to promoting innovative solutions for smarter and more sustainable cities, reinforcing its position in the development of sustainable mobility in Portugal.
BIKiNNOV’s participation is part of project 004ANI – Smart Cities of the Future, which is part of the Interface Mission – Core Funding for Technology and Innovation Centers and is funded by the PRR – Recovery and Resilience Program, as well as by NextGeneration EU.
