From Concept to Performance: AI and Engineering in the Mobility of the Future | 20 November 2025 | BIKiNNOV
Yesterday, BIKiNNOV organized the event “From Concept to Performance: AI and Engineering in the Mobility of the Future”, an initiative dedicated to technological innovation applied to the mobility sector, with a special focus on the integration of Artificial Intelligence, advanced engineering methodologies, and digital tools for product development.
The event brought together national and international experts, technology partners, and industry representatives, as well as students and researchers, who had the opportunity to explore emerging trends and solutions that are transforming engineering and the future of mobility.
“It is an honour to open this event and share BIKiNNOV’s vision for the future of the two-wheel industry. The new Metal Additive Manufacturing equipment represents a decisive step: it will accelerate prototyping and offer product designers a more efficient and environmentally sustainable solution,” said Vital Almeida, Vice-President of BIKiNNOV.
César Coutinho, Executive Director of BIKiNNOV, presented the capabilities of the Technology and Innovation Centre, highlighting the importance of artificial intelligence not only in managing the centre but also in providing services to the sector’s industry, where a model factory — the PVB Factory — will be created.
This was followed by a presentation from Jean-Philippe Daheuille, focused on the latest AI applications in SOLIDWORKS and on the technological developments expected in the coming years. Afterwards, Rémi Germain shared insights on the future of two-wheel mobility, addressing technological challenges, new engineering approaches, and global sector trends.
The programme also included a presentation by André Almeida, who highlighted CADNEA’s role as the SOLIDWORKS partner in Portugal, underlining the importance of CAD, CAE and PLM tools for business competitiveness.
Participants also had the opportunity to take a guided tour of BIKiNNOV, where they were able to discover equipment and technologies for rapid prototyping, additive manufacturing, metrology, and digital product development.
The event reinforced BIKiNNOV’s mission as a driving force for applied innovation and technical capacity-building for companies, promoting the connection between research, technology, and industry.
This event took place within the scope of AM2R – Mobilizing Agenda for Business Innovation, Project 111 – AM2R Technology and Innovation Centre, funded by the PRR and the NextGenerationEU Fund.
